چکیده
This study presents the use of modified coffee husk and lignin as sorbents in heavy metal ions sorption Pb(II), Cd(II), Cr(III), Cu(II) an aqueous solution. The modification was carried out by impregnation method, using silver nitrate (AgNO3) sodium borohydride (NaBH4) a nanoparticles’ (NPs) precursor, reducing agent, respectively. obtained nanocomposite material morphologically characterized electron microscopy. In addition, evaluation ions’ sorption, pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order kinetics modeling performed. Finally, antifungal activity evaluated on different Candida species. Coffee with AgNPs increased extraction capacity highest for Pb 2.56 mg/g 1.44 mg/g,

Removal of Heavy Metals Using Rice Husk: A Review
The importance of removal of heavy metals from drinking water has received significant attention of researchers and decision makers across the globe. Bio-adsorbents have emerged as potential remediation materials for the removal of heavy metals and metalloids from both groundwater and surface water. Plants, algae, fungi are some of the biomass derived adsorbents which are capable of removing he...
متن کاملRemoval of hexavalent chromium using coffee husk
The potential to remove chromium(VI) from aqueous solutions through biosorption using coffee husk was investigated. The effects of pH, contact time, initial concentration and adsorbent dosage on the adsorption of Cr(VI) were studied. The data obeyed Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The Langmuir adsorption capacity was found to be 44.95 mg/g. The Freundlich constants Kf and n were 1...

Copper and hexavalent chromium are heavy metals that are harmful to human health. Natural adsorbent chitosan, due to its considerable properties such as the presence of functional groups of –NH2 and -OH, non-toxicity, low cost, and biocompatibility, has gained much attention in pollutant removal. Therefore, in the present study, adsorption of chromium (VI) and copper (II) ions was conducted in ...
متن کاملConcentrations of heavy metals (Mn, Co, Ni, Cr, Ag, Pb) in coffee.
AIM Technologies involved in roasting coffee beans, as well as the methods used to prepare infusions, vary according to culture, and contribute to differences in the concentration of elements in the drink. MATERIALS AND METHODS Concentrations of six elements: manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), chrome (Cr), silver (Ag) and lead (Pb) were investigated in coffee infusions from eleven samp...
